Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Shapes Drop mobile app ("the App", "we", "us") collects, how it is used, and the third-party services it relies on. Shapes Drop is a casual merge puzzle game published by liveasfilm ("the Developer") and distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Our principle is simple: we do not ask you to sign in, we do not ask for any personally identifying information, and we do not build a profile of you. The App is free to play and supported by third-party advertising and platform-provided leaderboards, which collect a limited amount of data described below.
1. Information we collect directly
The App itself does not collect any personally identifiable information from you. Specifically, we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, microphone or camera input.
Game progress (such as your high score, current shape, and audio settings) is stored locally on your device. You can clear it at any time by reinstalling the App or clearing the App's storage.
2. Information collected by third-party services
The App uses the following third-party services, which may collect information independently of us in accordance with their own privacy policies:
2.1 Google AdMob (advertising)
The App displays advertisements served by Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). AdMob may collect device-level information including your advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, AAID on Android), coarse (IP-based) location, device model, operating system version, app version, ad interactions, and crash diagnostics. This information is used by Google to serve and measure ads, and — where you have permitted it — to personalize ads.
- On iOS, the App uses Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. Personalized ads are only enabled if you grant tracking permission. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings → Google → Ads.
For more information, see Google's Advertising policies and Google Privacy Policy.
2.2 Apple Game Center (iOS leaderboards)
On iOS, the App integrates with Apple Game Center so you can compete on global leaderboards (High Score and Best Shape) and unlock achievements. If you are signed into Game Center, your Game Center alias and high scores may be submitted to Apple and displayed to other players on the leaderboard. The App receives only an anonymous player identifier — it never receives your Apple ID, name, or email.
You can disable Game Center entirely from iOS Settings → Game Center. See Apple's Privacy Policy for details.
2.3 Google Play Games Services (Android leaderboards)
On Android, the App integrates with Google Play Games Services for the same purpose. If you sign in, your Play Games player ID, public gamer name, and submitted scores may be processed by Google and shown to other players on the leaderboard. The App does not receive your Google Account email.
You can manage or sign out of Play Games at any time from the Play Games app. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
2.4 App store platforms
Apple and Google may independently collect installation, crash, and aggregate usage statistics through the App Store and Google Play. These are governed by the respective store's privacy terms and are not under our control.
3. How information is used
The limited information described above is used to:
- display and measure advertisements (Google AdMob);
- show your score on global leaderboards and unlock achievements (Game Center, Play Games);
- keep the App stable and detect crashes (platform-provided diagnostics);
- respond to your support requests if you contact us.
We do not sell your information. We do not use it for cross-app profiling beyond what AdMob does on Google's side under your platform-level ad-tracking choices.
4. Data shared with third parties
| Recipient | Purpose | Data |
|---|---|---|
| Google (AdMob) | Serve and measure ads | Advertising ID, IP-based location, device info, ad events |
| Apple (Game Center) | Leaderboards, achievements (iOS) | Game Center alias, scores, anonymous player ID |
| Google (Play Games) | Leaderboards, achievements (Android) | Play Games ID, public gamer name, scores |
5. Children's privacy
The App is rated for all ages (4+ on the App Store, Everyone on Google Play) and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Advertising is served by Google AdMob in a manner consistent with applicable children's-privacy laws, including COPPA in the United States and the GDPR-K in the EU/EEA. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will work with our third-party providers to remove it.
6. Your choices and rights
- Limit ad tracking. Use your device's advertising-ID controls (see section 2.1) to reset your ad ID or opt out of personalized ads.
- Leave leaderboards. Sign out of Game Center / Play Games to stop submitting scores.
- Delete local data. Uninstall the App or clear its storage to remove all local game state from your device.
- Contact us. If you are in the EU/EEA, the UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR/UK GDPR/CCPA (access, correction, deletion, objection). Reach out using the contact details below.
7. Data retention
We do not retain personal data on our own servers — we do not operate any. Leaderboard scores are retained by Apple / Google for as long as they keep their respective services available. Local game data remains on your device until you remove the App or clear its storage.
8. International transfers
Because the App uses services operated by Apple and Google, any information processed by those services may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your country of residence (including the United States). Those transfers are governed by the privacy policies and safeguards of Apple and Google.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the third-party services the App uses. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we will also note them in the App's release notes.
